LORRAYNE WIKELIUS
Lorrayne S. Wikelius, 89, Alexandria, formerly of Aitkin, died October 6, 2003, at the Knute Nelson Memorial Home in Alexandria.
She was born January 1, 1914, at Monticello, the daughter of Jacob and Mary (Menth) Fyle. She grew up and attended school in Monticello and after graduation moved to Aitkin. She married Edward Wikelius on November 9, 1945, in Aitkin. She worked for the Aitkin County Courthouse and also the school district. She and her husband farmed for many years in Aitkin. When her health failed she moved to Alexandria and lived with her sisters until she moved to the Knute Nelson Memorial Home.
Funeral services were held October 9 from St. James Catholic Church in Aitkin with Fr. Paul Fruth officiating. Alice Hudson played the organ and Cathy Nadeau sang. Burial was in the Lake View Cemetery in Aitkin. Pallbearers were Tony Fyle, Jeremy Fyle, Brad Fyle, Jeffrey Fyle, Michael Powers and Greg Wikelius.
She is survived by sons, Allen "Corky" Wikelius, out of state; Gary Wikelius, Watkins; daughter, Carol Wikelius, Los Angeles, California; five grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Larry and Lois Fyle, Nisswa, and Gene and Joyce Fyle, Monticello; sisters, Barb Rooney, Cambridge, Delrose Rank, Los Angeles, California; Sister Mary Blanche Fyle and Sister Mary Sharon Fyle, both of Alexandria; special loved ones, Gary and Mary Lindgren, Aitkin.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Ed in 1977; and son James in 1971.
Arrangements were with the Sorensen-Root-Thompson Funeral Home in Aitkin.
